Play involves deciding where to start your farm and then steadily building your interstellar homestead. You need to gather resources from the local surroundings to be able to build, craft and farm. As you do, you can collect the seeds of numerous plants, look after animals and use your mech's different tools to plant, water and harvest crops, which can then be traded or delivered for credits and materials.
As you progress, you gain upgrades that let you explore further afield, automate parts of your farm and take on more ambitious work. This enables you to restore damaged areas, help other settlers and colonies thrive, and discover the world's ancient secrets that point to a lost civilisation from many years past. Working on this mystery, alongside developing your farm and dealing with changing weather and seasons, gives you plenty to do.
This results in a game that's great fun to play with friends, but also works as a relaxed solo farming adventure. More than that, though, it's a game about balance. Rather than rinsing the soil for everything it's got, your challenge is to create a sustainable lifestyle by carefully managing the planet's ecosystem while expanding your farm, supporting other communities and gradually uncovering what happened to the people who lived there before you.
