VSC Rating Board: Kirby and the Forgotten Land Explainer: Age Rating 7

The VSC Rating Board are producing a series of video guides to introduce recently released games and highlight their age rating. These provide an overview of the game, its age rating and potential alternative games.

Rating

Rated PEGI 7 for mild violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to fantasy characters, as well as pictures or sounds that may be frightening to younger children. This game features combat between fantasy characters. Violence is unrealistic in nature, as are reactions to it. Characters flash when hit, without any visible harm beyond a reduction in health, and enemies disappear in puffs of smoke when defeated. Boss fights are more intense and frenetic, although the violence remains cartoon-like in nature. Some of the larger bosses may be frightening to younger children, featuring elements such as glowing red eyes.
